Dashboard Business Metrics Analytics

A dashboard can be useful when it answers a question you regularly need to act on. It can also become another screen full of numbers nobody uses.

Choose the decisions first

Open quotes, unpaid invoices or estimated versus actual job costs are possible starting points. Ask what you would do differently if the number changed.

Agree what each measure means

Define the date range, what counts as a booked job and how costs are included. Confirm when the source information updates rather than assuming every number is live.

Check against the original records

Compare a sample with the job and accounting systems. Missing records and duplicates need attention before more charts do.

Which three numbers would make your weekly review easier, and can your existing software show them already?
