A clear customer update can answer a question before it turns into another call to the office. The useful starting point is deciding which message is needed and when.
Choose one point in the job
A booking confirmation, an on-the-way message or an invoice notification may be a manageable first step. Use the information the customer actually needs.
Make the trigger reliable
If the message depends on a job status, someone needs to keep that status accurate. Test reschedules, cancellations and changes so the customer does not receive an update that no longer fits.
Keep a way to reach a person
Automatic messages still need replies and exceptions handled. Review requests should ask for honest feedback without promising or steering a particular rating.
