Invoice follow-up can become another task to fit around the day's work. A consistent reminder process may be worth exploring before adding a complicated new tool.
Check the basics first
Is the invoice clear, sent to the right person and easy to pay? A reminder cannot fix missing information or a billing question nobody has answered.
Agree the timing
Your invoicing system may support reminders based on due dates. Use a schedule that fits your terms, and include a working way to view the invoice or contact the office.
Plan for exceptions
Stop reminders when payment is recorded. Pause them for a dispute, credit or payment arrangement, and give someone responsibility for resolving the issue.
What would help your business most: getting invoices out, keeping follow-up consistent or handling the exceptions?
